The Bottleneck

Eliminating Manual Device Onboarding

Provisioning enterprise networks has traditionally been a bottleneck. Field engineers unpack hardware, connect console cables, manually configure IP addresses and passwords, manually upgrade operating systems, and paste configuration snippets line by line.

This platform automates the entire device lifecycle: from the moment serial numbers leave the bill of materials, to zero-touch controller discovery, golden OS staging, policy deployment, and change ticket closure.

Lifecycle StageTraditional ExecutionWith Automation
Device OnboardingHours of manual console/CLI work per switchMinutes per device, completely automated
Configuration DeploymentError-prone copy-paste manual templatesIdempotent, validated, Git-driven templates
Compliance & Golden OSPeriodic manual audits after incidents occurImmediate post-deployment automated verification
Change DocumentationOften delayed, inaccurate, or entirely missedAuto-generated ServiceNow audit trail & ticket closure
Team NotificationsManual emails and coordination delaysReal-time webhook and Webex notifications
End-to-End Execution

The 6-Phase Provisioning Lifecycle

Phase 1Supply Chain

BOM Extraction & Pre-Claim

Device serial numbers extracted from procurement BOMs and mapped to device hostnames in policy YAML before equipment arrives on-site.

Phase 2Catalyst Center

Day-0 Pre-Claim in Controller

Device registered with serial number in Cisco Catalyst Center, assigned target site hierarchy, and tagged with the designated Golden OS Image.

Phase 3Day-0 Automation

Zero-Touch Onboarding (ZTP)

Device powers on in the field, obtains DHCP Option 43, calls home to Catalyst Center, receives Day-0 base configuration, and upgrades firmware automatically.

Phase 4GitOps Config

Day-N Policy Provisioning

Webhook triggers automation engine upon inventory addition. Jinja2 templates are rendered with variables pulled directly from Git source-of-truth.

Phase 5Health Validation

Post-Deployment Verification

Automated test suite executes show commands, checks port status, verifies route tables, and ensures 100% compliance with security policies.

Phase 6ITSM Integration

Closure & Notification

ServiceNow change request is automatically populated with command logs, verified, closed out, and real-time alerts are dispatched to Webex Teams.
